Our Stories & Values

The Little Way Cancer Support Centre was set up in October 2003 by Evelyn McKee along with the support from Nellie Dillon, Nora McDermott, Hilda Boland, Margaret Brereton and Ailish Salmon.

All had personal experiences of how cancer had affected them personally and the lack of supports that were available to them as they went through their cancer journey.

Through their determination and the generosity of the people of Kildare the doors opened in Woods Way, Clane in October 2003.  The centre grew from strength to strength and having secured funding from the National Lottery the Board of Directors purchased our current premises located in the heart of Clane, in 2017.

The Little Way name has a spiritual influence that is based upon doing small acts of kindness that would make a difference to a person. In our centre we are here to support the person and not the cancer.

The centre was designed to offer a welcoming, calming and private space to those who need to avail of cancer support services.
